ABOUT ME

Born in Pasig City, Manila. Being the only girl and the eldest of three little brothers. She emigrated to the United states at the age of five with just her mother and her little brother. Lara’s work explores the intersection of American culture and her Filipino heritage, delving into themes like politics while navigating the complexities of growing up in America. Her art reflects the challenges of finding her identity and “niche” in a culture that often feels foreign, while also celebrating the rich traditions of her Filipino roots.  Her hope is to be an aspiring artist for many first generation queer Filipino American artists out there. She hopes her art inspires many, to be able to push people into achieving their dreams so that they can too become a successful artist.
